Environmental Impact

“Captain Cereal” can be described as eco-friendly on two different levels: the production process and the packaging. “Captain Cereal” is a sustainable product because it is based on eggshell utilization, which is a by-product. Regarding the packaging, Specifically, the SBS paperboard and the PLA bag are biodegradable and recyclable. Also, PLA is polymer with no toxins. It can be created from corn, cassava, sugar cane, pulp and other organic renewable sources, like biomass. Production of PLA needs 65% less energy than other conventional polymers, like polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene and emits 68% less greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide.
